The initiative aims to protect consumers by adding newly classified CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic to reproduction) substances to the lists of CMR substances restricted for consumer use under REACH and to facilitate implementation of the current restriction on azocolourants by replacing outdated references to test methods with updated references to new methods. Finally, the initiative aims to increase legal clarity by removing several obsolete provisions and references.
