With the proposed new agreement, the EU aims to update its relationship with Tajikistan with view to enhancing relations with the country; supporting the ongoing, but slow, reform process; strengthening EU influence in the region; supporting a sustainable management of natural resources and climate change policy; enhancing economic opportunities for the growing young population; promoting a level-playing field for European business; promoting regional stability, security and connectivity.
