This Joint Communication proposes elements for a new EU Strategy on India. India is an increasingly significant economic and political player and its importance as a partner for the EU has grown since the last Commission Communication in 2004. A new Joint Communication will be instrumental in fulfilling the potential of the EU-India Strategic Partnership. The Joint Communication will contribute to the implementation of the EU’s Global Strategy and the Commission’s political priorities.
