The initiative will set out policy priorities for EU humanitarian aid to better adapt to the new global geopolitical and humanitarian context. This action is timely, given the sharp increase in humanitarian needs, further exacerbated by the effects of COVID-19. It will help to consolidate the EU’s globally leading role as a principled donor and geopolitical player, and set out innovative ways of working to support more people in need, with a strong focus on efficiency and value for money.
