EU-São Tomé e Príncipe fisheries agreement - negotiation mandate for a new protocol

The EU and São Tomé e Príncipe Fisheries Partnership Agreement allows EU vessels to fishing in the São Tomé e Príncipe waters and the EU to support the country’s sustainable fisheries policy. This is based on technical and financial conditions set out in an implementing protocol which will expire in 2024. Fishing in these waters by EU vessels must be sustainable, based on the best available scientific advice for tropical tunas stocks.
