Almost one fourth of the world’s population lives in fragile states or societies which are usually breaking down in violent conflict. This evaluation will provide EU institutions, Member States, donors, partner countries and the wider public with an overall independent assessment of the EU’s cooperation in the fields of conflict prevention and peace-building with a view to identify key lessons, distil good practices and nurture strategies and interventions of the next programming period.
