This act provides for the guiding principles and criteria for defining procedures to verify through in-service testing that the CO2 recorded in the documentation of the vehicle, (i.e. customer information file, certificate of conformity or individual approval certificate) correspond to the test results of the same vehicles. These procedures should ensure that any strategy used to artificially improve the vehicles’ carbon dioxide performance in the type-approval test could be detected.
