Transport and Environment urges binding zero-emission mandates for trucks

The organization requests the EC shall also introduce a ZEV mandate or benchmark for trucks and buses. They argue the upcoming proposal should aim at such level of ambition to get the maximum cost-effective potential out of trucks.
Stricter standards would directly advance the organization's core mission to decarbonize European transport.
Truck manufacturers would face higher production costs and the loss of flexible compliance mechanisms.

Neste urges EU to count renewable fuels as zero-emission

Renewable fuels should be assigned zero tank-to-wheels CO2 values in regulations. Measurements should also account for the favorable carbon content of alternative fuels.
This change would increase market demand for Neste's renewable fuel products.
Fossil fuel suppliers would lose their competitive advantage over renewable fuel alternatives.
