Auto industry seeks relief from retroactive CO2 data requirements

ACEA requests clarity on retroactive data requirements and opposes requiring manufacturers to re-run simulations for vehicles processed before October 2019. They want the Commission to consult manufacturers before adjusting any data, arguing retroactive requirements contradict better regulation principles and impose substantial costs.
This would avoid costs from re-running simulations for thousands of vehicles.
Environmental oversight is weakened if incomplete data prevents verification of emissions accuracy.
