The Radio Equipment Directive establishes a regulatory framework for placing radio equipment on the market. It ensures a Single Market for radio equipment by setting essential requirements for, among others, safety and health and a harmonised charging solution. This initiative aims at modifying the reference to the technical specifications regarding the charging receptacle and charging communication protocol for radio equipment capable of being recharged by means of wired charging.
