Following a request from EU Member States, the Commission proposes the accession of the EU to the Convention for the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean (‘the North Pacific Fisheries Convention’) to permit the access of the EU fleet to its Convention Area and to promote the sustainable exploitation, management and conservation of its marine biological resources and the marine environment.
