Current rules are not sufficient to allow for imports into EU of cereal seed and oil and fibre plant seed from Bolivia. Following the request of Bolivia, the Commission analysed and inspected the seed certification system in place in Bolivia. It concluded that the Bolivian system offers the same assurances as the EU system. Therefore, the Bolivian seed certification system can be recognised as equivalent to the EU's and the EU market can be opened to these types of seeds from Bolivia.
