Thanks to the already existing Ecodesign and Energy Labelling regulations on ventilation units, primary energy savings in the order of 213 TWh per year in 2030 have been estimated. The review of these regulations offer the chance to assess if further energy savings, as well as resource savings, can be attained by means of more stringent cost-effective requirements, and if requirements based on the functional performance should be imposed.
