This act aims at amending the definition and conditions of use of ‘allusions’ to names of spirit drinks and geographical indications for spirit drinks in the new Regulation (EU) 2019/787. The goal is to allow information on traditional production practices entailing the use of a spirit drink as the sole alcoholic base for further processing into a different spirit drink or the maturation/finishing of a spirit drink in a wooden cask previously used to mature another spirit drink.
