The Communication will assess current and future challenges for visa policy. It aims to balance the benefits of facilitated visa-processing and visa-free travel with migration, security and border management, taking account of new IT solutions. It will announce in the short term a targeted proposal to amend the Visa Code and a proposal to amend the VIS legal framework.
