Response to Multiannual Financial Framework: Erasmus Programme 2021-2027

The European Office for Catholic Youth and Adult Education, Don Bosco International and the Commission of Bishops´ conferences of the European Union support the proposal of the European Commission for Erasmus 2021-2027. We welcome the announced doubling of the budget, the introduction of small-scale partnerships, the opening of Jean-Monet to non-formal education and the plans to simplify the administrative rulebook. We regard Erasmus as a successfull programme. The legislative proposal has the potential to transform education in Europe. To unleash the full potential of Erasmus we recommend to strengthen the role of non-formal education, to improve the learning dimension of DiscoverEU, improve the work of national agencies and to takes bold steps to ensure social inclusion.
