Response to Review of the Construction Products Regulation

ASTM International welcomes the European Commission (EC) proposal for a revised Construction Products Regulation and is pleased to provide our feedback. While several ASTM International Technical Committees (TCs) actively develop and maintain standards relevant to the construction industry, we were particularly excited to see the prominent role of additive manufacturing (AM, more commonly known as 3D printing) technology in the regulatory proposal. ASTM International believes that AM technology is poised to transform the construction industry, but will not do so without the right standards. As such, AM for construction is an area of strategic importance for ASTM and its members, including many based in the EU. Please find our comments attached.
