Response to Measures to reduce microplastic pollution

From the point of the textile industry and the use of natural fibers we would very much support to have more data about micro fibre pollution from man made fibres. Currently recycled polyester is considered sustainable. This does not seem to be logic when micro fibres come into account. The textile industry is incredibly large and the fast fashion aka fossile fashion, based on crude oil, is still growing. Basis for fast fashion are man made fibres because they are visibly cheaper than any other raw material. And no biodegradability at all. Therefore, we kindly ask for reliable data about the impact of man made fibers, how much is being used in the textiles worldwide and in the end: how to avoid the micro fiber pollution in the textile industry.
