Response to Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM)

One of the main challenges of connective, automated mobility (e cars) will be cabling. External - for loading of batteries and internal - for car control, navigational systems and internal car communication (audio and video applications, internet access) Since quantities of cabling in e cars are increasing it will be essential to design the cable structure to allow low weight and a compact design (FFCE - flexible flat cable, extruded) The concept has been developed in Austria in 2004 already but was not accepted due a required change of harness making infrastructure. Now and in connection with e car technology it is strongly reconsidered as we understand from discussions with automotive wire manufacturers in Europe, Japan and USA.
