The association aims at representing the highest values of Italian fashion and style, and protect, co-ordinate, promote, monitor and enhance the image of Italian fashion both in Italy and abroad by means including rigorous selection of members; protecting the legitimate interest of the sector and of its members, where necessary; co-ordinate the efforts of individuals and/or legal entities, mainly Italian but also of other nationalities, who intend and are particularly qualified and/or competent to make an active contribution to the development, enhancement and study of Italian costume, style and fashion, also through comparison with costume, style and fashion in other countries; represent its members in relations with government and pubic administrations, economic, political, cultural and social organizations and any other component of society in Italy or abroad; collaborate with public and private organizations that have common interests and goals.
