Response to Establishment of the scientific panel of independent experts under the AI Act – implementing regulation

The Centre pour la Sécurité de l'IA (French Center for AI Safety) appreciates the opportunity to provide feedback on the Commission implementing regulation laying down the rules for the application of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the establishment of a scientific panel of independent experts in the field of artificial intelligence. In our assessment, the proposal establishes a crucial and effective framework. At the same time, several areas require further specificity to enhance the regulations efficacy. Attached, we provide targeted comments on key sections of the regulation, along with recommendations to address identified gaps.
