Response to Review of the requirements for packaging and feasibility of measures to prevent packaging waste

CEPI Eurokraft, the European Association for Producers of Sack Kraft Paper for the Paper Sack Industry and Kraft Paper for the Packaging Industry, acknowledges the European Commissions proposal for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. However, the Regulation should aim to make packaging more circular in a holistic way without giving certain materials a disproportionate market advantage. Material neutrality would be better maintained if the legislation were to consider recycling and reuse as equally viable options for packaging circularity.
