Response to Use of veterinary medicinal products for diseases in terrestrial animals

2 Sept 2022

Ceva Santé Animale welcomes the draft of the delegated act. On Avian Inluenza, it is important to note that surveillance under vaccination conditions will be a heavy task for national veterinary services. Therefore we would like to propose the following change in the Annexes p. 35 para 2.2 ( see original text below) after the start of vaccination, the following active surveillance has to be carried out by an official veterinarian in vaccinated establishments at least every 30 days to detect occurrence of infection with HPAI field virus: We would suggest to replace " by an official veterinarian" by " under the supervision of an offical veterinarian" We would also like to mention that new generation vaccines against Rift Valley Fever are a very important tool for the future control of this disease and should be given full consideration in this delegated act
