Response to The EU Cybersecurity Act

As a law Firm with expertise in telecom, digital law and business tech, we welcome the opportunity to participate in the consultation initiated by the European Commission. We share the Commissions view that the evolution of networks and technology requires regular reassessment of cybersecurity risks. We also commend the Commissions initiative to simplify regulation and reduce administrative burdens on stakeholders involved in delivering these services. Notwithstanding, we would like to point out that any revision of the Cybersecurity Act (CSA) should take into account the European principle of proportionality as well as avoiding requirements that could create unjustified barriers to entry or result in the exclusion of current market actors. To this extent, we believe that risk assessments should focus on technical criteria, equally applicable to any supplier operating or providing solutions in EU market Please find attached a pdf with our more detailed contribution.

Response to How to master Europe’s digital infrastructure needs?

Que, en fecha 21 de febrero de 2024, se publicó por la Comisión Europea el texto del Libro Blanco ¿Cómo gestionar las necesidades de infraestructura digital de Europa? (LIBRO BLANCO) dándose apertura el mismo día a la Consulta Pública sobre el citado instrumento preparatorio para que todas las partes interesadas, entre otras, los Estados miembros, la sociedad civil, la industria y el mundo académico, pudieran contribuir a las futuras propuestas de la Comisión en este ámbito. Que, considerando la naturaleza de este Despacho, en el plazo prevenido al efecto, paso a enunciar algunas de las cuestiones que deberían ser revisadas por esta Comisión y el Parlamento Europeo al objeto de que este LIBRO BLANCO de riguroso cumplimiento a los nobles fines marcados en su texto y todo ello lo hago en base a las Consideraciones incluidas en el documento adjunto.
