Response to General revision of the General Block Exemption Regulation

13 Aug 2025

HYTEP welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the GBER regulation, particularly on those articles that directly and indirectly affect support schemes for hydrogen production, distribution, and end uses. HYTEP is a non-profit organization with 80 members focusing on enhancing hydrogen development in the Czech Republic. In line with the Clean Industrial Deal and the objective to streamline overly complicated EU regulation, GBER should simplify provisions directly concerning hydrogen and move away from strictly imposing renewable hydrogen while excluding support for low-carbon hydrogen production and use. GBER should aim to align itself more closely with CISAF. Current uses of GBER in the Czechia led to many issues, especially with overly strict application of support for renewable hydrogen.
