Response to EU taxonomy - Review of the environmental delegated act

4 Dec 2025

EDFI welcomes the Commissions review of the Taxonomy Climate and Environmental Delegated Acts, aimed at simplifying the TSC, addressing implementation challenges and improving usability. While the review focuses primarily on the workability of the TSC, EDFI considers it important to highlight that these criteria interact with wider structural issues - such as the GAR framework and the lack of mandatory EU-aligned reporting in EMDEs - which together shape the feasibility of applying the Taxonomy outside the EU. As the review explicitly seeks evidence from practitioners where current criteria - particularly DNSH - are difficult to apply or disproportionate, EDFI submits this feedback to illustrate the challenges experienced in EMDE investments and to support adjustments that enable the EU Taxonomy to function effectively in global development finance settings. Please see attached document for detailed information.
