Response to Recommendation on savings and investment accounts

European Investors-VEB applauds the rationale for this initiative. Key pillars are taxation (discrimination of investors against savers to be abolished throughout the EU) and regulation (make access to S&I-accounts user friendly and intuitive). The narrative must revolve around investors' interest. There is high urgency and progress by a coalition of the willing should not be excluded. Please refer to the letter submitted as an attachment.

European Investors-VEB kindly refers to the attached PDF-letter of 6 March 2025. The benefits of the SIU may be huge and its construction is of the greatest urgency in order to sustain the sheer existence of the EU. There is no time to be wasted. EU citizens are deprived from opportunities existing on other continents. Succeeding in enabling EU citizens to tap greater welfare is a lever to boost their engagement with the EU - this harnesses the EU's legitimacy. Create a 28th legal regime towards collective redress for EU retail investors.
