ESSC

The principal purpose of ESSC is to represent protect and promote the interests of the shooting sport and athletes in the European institutions Among its objectives there are: • exchange and promotion of information on sport shooting and hunting with public powers in the European Institutions and in various countries of Europe • offer of information and solutions to European decision-makers on problems of common interest for sport shooters and hunters • cooperation with other associations, organizations and bodies that share the objectives and ideas of the ESSC.

Response to Review of rules of export authorisation, and import and transit measures for firearms

Below is a joint contribution from FITASC (Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse) and ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation): FITASC and ISSF hereby reaffirm their full support for measures to combat the illegal possession of weapons. On the other hand, FITASC and ISSF would like to warn the European Commission against the possible confusions made between terrorism, crime and legal possession of firearms. The European rules are as a whole satisfactory, as they allow sports shooting to be practiced in good conditions while guaranteeing a high public safety level, especially with the “European Firearms Pass” which works rather well rules inside and outside Europe.
