Zweck des Vereins ist die Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung und die Bereitstellung von Informationen über Industrieheizsysteme, technische Entwicklungen und deren mögliche Einsatzgebiete, insbesondere bei der Beheizung großer Gebäude, sowie die Ausarbeitung und Überwachung europäischer Normen. Der Zweck des Vereins wird verwirklicht durch einen internationalen Erfahrungs- und Wissensaustausch, durch wissenschaftliche Beiträge, durch die Einreichung von Artikeln in populärwissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften, durch die Bereitstellung allgemeiner Informationen über die Technologie und mögliche Einsatzgebiete der Infrarot-Strahlern und Lufterhitzer sowie durch die Förderung von Forschungsprojekten, die deren Einsatz unterstützen, und durch andere geeignete Maßnahmen sowie die Einhaltung europäischer Normen in diesem Bereich. ELVHIS kann Mitglied in anderen Organisationen werden. Der Zweck des ELVHIS ist nicht auf einen wirtschaftlichen Geschäftsbetrieb gerichtet.

Draft Revision Commission Regulation (EU) ....regards ecodesign requirements for local space heaters and repealing Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 - dated 21/03/2023 and Draft Annexes of same Commission Regulation ....- datet 21/03/2023 Concern: Extended Scope of the Regulation - Commercial Local Space Heaters As discussed during the consultation process the scope of the Regulation concerning commercial local space heaters - namely commercial tube local space heaters - has been extended up to tube heaters or single tube heater segments from 120 to 300 kW heat output (see Article 1 Subject matter and scope and previous description of the regulation revision point (11)). ELVHIS as European association of manufacturers of gas-fired radiant heaters appriciates this extension. In contraction to this extension the European product standard covering these large radiant tube heaters EN 17175:2020-04 "Gas-fired overhead radiant strip heaters and multi-burner continuous radiant tube heater systems for non-domestic use - Safety and energy efficiency" is not listed and not referred to in the connected draft of Annex IV "Transitional methods referred to in Article 3" of the draft Regulation. ELVHIS requires that the standard EN 17175:2020-04 has to be listed and referred to in Annex IV of the draft Regulation.

Response to Ecodesign requirements for local space heaters (review)

On behalf of FIGAWA e.V. - the German association, representing manufacturers of commercial local space heaters and ELVHIS e.V. - the European association of manufacturers of gas fired radiant heaters we would like to answer as follows: Concerning the scope of radiant heaters covered under the ecodesign regulation on local space heaters we suppose to incoporate radiant tube heaters between 120 and 300 kW in the recent regulation. Technical, efficiency and safety features of these tube heaters are described in the new product standard EN 17175 "Radiant strips and continuous radiant tube heater systems". We propose that for tube heaters between 120 and 300 kW ecodesign parameters and requirements (definitions, requirements, calculation scheme) should be identical to the requirements of radiant tube heaters < 120 kW.
