Media Freedom Act address just part of the problem and is designed in the interest of the media. I believe it should rather speak in the interest of public opinion, focus on public right to access true information, avoid disinformation and preserve the freedom of expression. Media are only platforms, in many areas of Europe mostly platforms for advertising or propaganda. Media Freedom Act will not eliminate this deviation of media but might rather protect it. Please see the whole system of information: media are just element of it, too dependent politically and from advertisers, to be free. Protecting such media will mean protecting disinformation. Therefore, protection of freedom should be paid back with media duties and obligations, not just granted to anything who call itself media.
