Response to Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings - review of EU rules

15 Sept 2021

Since 1982, Forum réfugiés-Cosi provides legal and social support to asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection, and third country nationals in administrative detention centres. Moreover, the NGO leads advocacy and awareness-raising activities to defend the asylum and fundamental rights in France and in Europe. At the national level, the NGO is developing and managing dedicated accommodation places with tailored and adapted support for women victims of violence and human trafficking. The NGO participates to the national study coordinated by the MIPROF and the ONDRP on victims of trafficking supported by NGOs in France. At the European level, the NGO coordinated between 2016 and 2018 the EU-funded project TRACKS - identification of TRafficked Asylum seeKers’ Special needs – focusing on the identification of trafficked asylum seekers during the asylum procedure and in their reception, and enabled to create a comparative European report and toolboxes for practitioners. Since January 2020, Forum réfugiés-Cosi coordinate the EU-funded project TRIPS – identification of Trafficking International Protection’s Special needs – which is implemented in France, Italy, Czech Republic, Ireland and Belgium. Forum réfugiés-Cosi is also member of the European Union platform of the civil society against human trafficking, of the EASO vulnerability experts’ network and the EASO and FRA consultative forum. These expertise networks are critical to exchange on practices and to lead advocacy activities on victims’ rights and needs.
