Response to EU Space Law: Union law for safe, secure and sustainable space activities

EU having a common legislative framework is a necessary condition the Union to become a relevant space actor globally GMV supports the Commissions ambition to establish a coherent Union framework for space activities. In particular, we welcome: The emphasis on avoiding market fragmentation and ensuring equal treatment of space operators across the Union. The inclusion of cybersecurity, debris mitigation, and space traffic coordination as core components of the regulation. Recognition of the role of the Union in shaping a competitive, secure, and sustainable internal market for space. Pursuing a more secure, more resilient and more sustainable space infrastructure and services and utilisation of the space environment, In order to ensure a balanced and innovation-friendly implementation some recommendations are included with this response.
