17 Apr 2018

° development of an impact framework for assessing cultural cross-overs should aim at promoting culture within other DG’s and policy areas. ° involving cultural networks in the implementation of the EU international cultural relation strategy and securing that culture is included in EU’s SDG 2030 strategy. ° promoting mobility of art works / performances: mobility of artists will have a larger impact if they can show the results of their work; moreover, mobility of performances guarantees their longer life span and broader reach to a larger and more diverse European audiences, enhancing common values and a shared identity. ° “new sector-specific actions in the most mature sectors to strengthen coherence of EU policy and programme support”: it is not clear what are the criteria for being a ‘mature sector’. Recent studies (Mapping the creative value chains – a study on the economy of culture in the digital age) and Creative Europe’s cooperation projects’ results prove the performing arts is a strong and impactful sector. Its contribution to intercultural dialogue, cultural diplomacy, mobility and social dimension is undisputed. In general: when sector-specific actions are developed, make sure no sector is disadvantaged in the long-term. would promote mobility of performances: mobility of artists will have a larger impact if they can show their works of arts; moreover mobility of performances guarantee their longer life span and broader reach to a larger and more diverse European audiences, contributing to common values and a shared identity.
