As a leading global provider of intelligent energy and water metering solutions, Kamstrup is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our products and the data they handle. We fully support the delegated regulation 2022/30/EU in the Official Journal of the European Union and its commitment to enhancing cybersecurity, personal data privacy, and fraud protection for applicable wireless devices available on the EU market. The provisions of RED Article 3.3, which include the strengthening of network protection, privacy protection, and fraud risk reduction, resonate with our core values. We understand the scope of the new regulation, which covers devices that can communicate over the internet and may expose sensitive personal data. As a manufacturer of smart metering solutions, our products fall within this scope, and we are committed to ensuring their safety and security. That said, the transition to full compliance with the new cybersecurity requirements of the RED is complex and multifaceted. The development of harmonized standards to support the essential requirements laid out in Article 3.3 is still underway, with standards expected to be published by June 2024. These requirements will impact any manufacturer producing radio equipment to be sold on the EU market, and compliance preparations can and should begin now. We believe that an extension of the application date (August 2025) for the RED delegated act will provide manufacturers, including Kamstrup, with the necessary time to fully understand the implications of the new standards and effectively implement them. This will ultimately benefit not only the manufacturers but also the consumers who use our products. We are committed to fully complying with the RED, and we will use the extended application period to ensure that our products meet the new cybersecurity standards. We believe that this will enhance the security of our products and the data they handle, ultimately serving the best interests of our customers and stakeholders.
