Response to Modernisation of the EU legislation for on-farm animal welfare for certain animals

It is the understandig of Norwegian Seafood Federation that this Call for evidence is targeted agricultural farming only. We take in notice that the Commission plans to present its first proposal, to revise existing EU legislation for on-farm animal welfare, next year. If aquatic animals are to be included in this revising, we expect that also aquaculture will have a processes as agricultural farming does, like this call of evidence. Otherwise we support the position from FEAP. The Norwegian Seafood Federation represents more than 900 buisnesses in Norway within aquaculture and seafood production.
