NOS SGPS, S.A. (NOS), through its subsidiaries, provides electronic communications networks and services in Portugal and is also active in several areas of the audiovisual sectors value chain. NOSs activities include supporting the production of national films, marketing and distributing cinematographic and audiovisual works, film exhibition, and television broadcasting, as well as providing services directly or indirectly related to television, internet, and cinema. As one of the leading Portuguese telecommunications and entertainment groups, NOS hereby presents, in the attached document, its position on the application of Regulation (EU) 2018/302 (Geoblocking Regulation), with a focus on the reasons why its scope should not be extended to audiovisual content protected by copyright.
