Response to Evaluation of the Fertilising Products Regulation

OCP Nutricrops' primary mission is to help farmers access the most efficient and sustainable fertilisers and the latest application expertise, wherever they are in the world. We consider the review of the EU Fertilising Product Regulation (FPR) important for harmonising standards that promote safer, high-quality, and sustainably labelled fertilising products across Europe. We support the FPRs goals of fostering a more circular economy and elevating environmental standards. We believe future regulation should support the flexibility and innovation needed to deliver tailored nutrient solutions and to help farmers balance productivity, environmental protection, and food security. The proven framework of the 4R stewardship principles, using the right source of nutrient at the right rate, right time, and right place, should continue to underpin policy. We believe that policy changes should be firmly based on scientific evidence and the essential need for secure, affordable, and diverse fertiliser supplies for Europes farmers. It is essential food security, farmer incomes or the resilience of supply chains are not compromised. We are strongly committed to decarbonising our value chain and expanding the use of renewable energy in our production, supporting the transition to sustainable agriculture. We look forward to supporting the EUs ambitions for sustainable growth, environmental protection, and resilient food systems, leveraging our scientific expertise and longstanding partnership with European agriculture.
