The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) is the platform for cooperation between national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. Since its foundation in 1975, OBESSU has been their only representative at European level and now counts 35 organisations from 27 countries. Our input consists a series of papers co-created with a variety of CSOs and platforms - with OBESSU being either engaged as a member or partner. Namely our input includes: 1. E+ Coalition Common demands for the upcoming iteration of the Erasmus+ Programme 2. LLLP MFF OPC "Whats needed from the next EU long-term budget?" 3. GCE alliance Statement on MFF 4. OBESSU, the European network of national school student unions active in general secondary education and vocational education and training, welcomes the initiative of the European Commission on blended education as EU cooperation in this field is essential to improve the quality, inclusiveness and resilience of education systems around the EU. The education sector, and especially primary and secondary education, has been particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaboration is more than ever needed amongst EU Member States to counteract the diverse challenges faced by education systems. Additionally, to provide the same opportunities to all learners around the EU, we believe that it is important to develop a common vision and understanding of blended learning and put learners’ needs and wellbeing at its core. The attached document contains the preliminary findings of OBESSU research on the impact of COVID-19 on school students in the EU as well as some recommendations.
