RDW is the Netherlands Vehicle Authority in the mobility chain. As a non-departmental public body (NDPB) resorting under the responsibility of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, RDW contributes to the realisation of policy objectives in the area of mobility, traffic safety and the environment.
RDW contributes to establishing a vehicle fleet that is clean, efficient and silent, to mitigate for long term climate changes and to protect the living environment. RDW has the following priorities for the next years:
1. Reduction of emissions.
2. Low-carbon power trains.
3. Access and residence rights for vehicles.
4. Tyres.
5. Future proof admission and continuous monitoring.
6. International data exchange.
