Response to Sustainable Products Initiative

Refashion welcomes the publication of the proposal for a Regulation establishing Ecodesign requirements for sustainable products (ESPR). In particular, Refashion supports the extension of the previous Directive’s scope to key sets of products, such as textiles. Refashion backs the described objectives of the regulation, which is of setting ecodesign requirements based on product “durability, reusability, upgradability and reparability, the presence of substances of concern in products, product energy and resource efficiency, recycled content of products, product remanufacturing and high-quality recycling, and for reducing products’ carbon and environmental footprints.” See full position attached.
