About SEFE Marketing & Trading SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited (SEFE M&T) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE GmbH, transparency register no. 529602648863-14), responsible for the optimisation of SEFE Groups energy commodity assets through SEFE M&Ts marketing and trading network. SEFE M&T is active as a trader and marketer of energy commodities, including electricity and gas in Germany, UK and Europe. Wider considerations SEFE M&T appreciates the opportunity to respond to this consultation on CBAM. SEFE M&T supports efforts to enable reduction of carbon emissions via an effective carbon price signal both in Europe and globally. In relation to this consultation, we see favourably the temporary derogations to the calculation methods for reporting embedded emissions until the end of 2024. However, as an experienced electricity trader operating across the UK and the EU, SEFE M&T would like to also highlight some concerns on the potential CBAM impacts on the electricity flows form GB to the EU.
