Response to Social Economy Action Plan

Reach for Change is an international non-profit organisation headquartered in Sweden with a local active presence in nine countries across Europe and Africa. Our vision is a world where all children and youth reach their full potential. We work towards this by supporting local social entrepreneurs in finding, developing and scaling innovative and impactful solutions to challenges affecting children’s lives. In the ten years since Reach for Change was founded, we have supported more than 1,200 entrepreneurs across 18 countries in impacting the lives of 4.3 million+ children and youth. Based on our experience as an engaged ecosystem actor across several European and African markets, we would recommend the following priority areas during the drafting of the EC’s upcoming Social Economy Action Plan: - Increased support for capacity building organisations and their work empowering local actors and entrepreneurs within the social economy - Promotion of social entrepreneurship among under-represented groups in the sector, covering the whole spectrum of diversity and inclusion - Adoption of flexible and innovative financing mechanisms that allow social economy organisations to reach their full potential Please see the attached full submission for this consultation.
