Response to The EU Cybersecurity Act

Trellix, as a global leader in cybersecurity solutions serving both private and public sector clients, welcomes the European Commissions initiative to revise the Cybersecurity Act (CSA) and to simplify the EUs cybersecurity legislative framework. The evolving threat landscape and the proliferation of cyber-related legislation necessitate a comprehensive review to ensure Europes cybersecurity resilience while maintaining competitive markets and innovation. The Commission has noted that the cybersecurity landscape has significantly evolved in terms of complexity and number of attacks since the 2019 adoption of the CSA, underscoring the urgency of this revision. As the Commission pursues its simplification agenda to address overlapping requirements, we provide the following analysis and recommendations across three critical areas: the evolution of ENISAs mandate and capacity, improvements to the European Cybersecurity Certification Framework (ECCF) and legislative simplification (including on the Cyber Resilience Act timeline).
