Response to Revision of Non-Financial Reporting Directive

Der Verband für Nachhaltigkeits- und Umweltmanagement e. V. (VNU) unterstützt das Engagement für Nachhaltigkeit in Verbindung mit einer validen Berichterstattung für Organisationen.
Wir empfehlen EMAS verstärkt zu nutzen, da EMAS seit vielen Jahren etabliert ist und in besonderer Art und Weise alle Ansprüche an CSR und Nachhaltigkeit als Bestandteil eines Managementsystems miteinander verknüpft. Darüber hinaus steht die qualifizierte Personengruppe der staatlich zugelassenen Umweltgutachter/-innen als prüfende Personen zur Verfügung und über das EMAS-Register sowie die verbindlichen EMAS-Berichtspflichten wird ein hoher Grand an Transparenz und Glaubwürdigkeit gewährleistet.
Mit dem Deutschen Nachhaltigkeitskodex DNK ist außerdem ein Berichtsstandard, speziell für die Darstellung der Belange von CSR und Nachhaltigkeit, transparent verfügbar. Beide Instrumente zusammen sind prädestiniert, um die Anforderungen der nichtfinanziellen Berichtspflichten zu erfüllen.

The Association for European Sustainability and Eco-Management Professionals (VNU e. V.) supports the commitment to sustainability in relation with valid CSR-reports for organisations.
We recommend increased use of EMAS, as it has been established for many years and combines all the requirements of CSR and sustainability as a component of a management system in a specific way. In addition, the qualified group of state-accredited environmental verifiers is available as auditors, and the EMAS register and the binding EMAS reporting obligations ensure a high level of transparency and credibility.
With the German Sustainability Codex (DNK), a reporting standard is also available specific for the reporting of sustainability issues. Both instruments together are predestined to fulfil the requirements of the non-financial reporting obligations.
