The proposed act will provide harmonised rules for Member States as regards operational activities under the Animal Health Law covering conditions for notification of terrestrial and aquatic animal diseases; reporting of surveillance activities, including Union surveillance programmes – with the list of diseases concerned and the criteria to evaluate the programmes – and minimum requirements for animal health visits from veterinarians.
