The CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of heavy-goods vehicles shall be determined using standard trailers during certification. Actual trailers may differ from the standard ones. This regulation lays down the rules for the certification of certain trailers with regard to their influence on the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of the towing motor vehicle. In addition, the Regulation makes it possible to compare different vehicles and facilitates faster market uptake of more efficient trailers.
