Education for environmental sustainability

Education and training

The EU Biodiversity Strategy announced that the Commission would propose in 2021 a Council Recommendation on education for environmental sustainability. The European Education Area Communication also refers to the proposal and identifies support for the green transition as a key challenge for EU policy cooperation. This is the first step towards helping Member States to strengthen policy development, learning and teaching and cooperation on education for environmental sustainability.
