Firearms Trafficking Directive
Home affairs
Following a study of Member States' national criminal law rules, this initiative aims to ensure the harmonisation of minimum criminalisation of firearms offences, in line with the United Nations Firearms Protocol and the EU Law on Firearms. The relevant offences would be illicit manufacturing, illicit trafficking, modification of marking and illicit possession. The initiative would include firearms, essential components and ammunition, and establish minimum levels of sanctions among Member States.
