UNESDA seeks reporting clarity for plastic waste tax

The group urges the Commission to exclude private exports and reusable packaging from waste calculations. They also request clearer wording to prevent double counting of reusable packaging.

Clearer reporting rules would prevent companies from incurring higher costs through redundant tax payments.

National governments may receive less revenue if more packaging categories are exempted from tax.
