Mercury – review of EU law

Environment

The use of mercury is restricted in most products in the EU. The revision of the EU legislation on mercury aims to further restrict remaining uses of mercury in the EU and globally, especially in dental amalgam and certain other mercury-added products, such as lamps and measuring devices. It will possibly also addresses other aspects that require consideration. This contributes to the zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment announced in the European Green Deal.
